Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) – Buoyed by a mission to redefine customer experience and be the provider of choice wherever energy is consumed, the Ikeja Electric (IE), Nigeria’s largest power distribution network, came into existence on November 1st, 2013 following the handover of the defunct Power Holding Company Of Nigeria (PHCN) to NEDC/ KEPCO Consortium under the privatization scheme of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Quality, Health Safety & Environment Specialist

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full time
Reporting To: Quality, Health Safety & Environment Lead

Job Description

  • The ideal candidate is responsible for Inspecting work areas and employee work habits to ensure that everything is in compliance with Quality, Health Safety & Environment (QHSE) rules and environmental safety guidelines; and makes changes to improve the safety of the workplace when necessary.

Specific Roles

  • Prepare budget for safety training and purchase of safety equipment’s for IE filed staff.
  • Plan and conduct safety awareness training/program; ensure employees follow safety rules & regulations; distribute safety pocket book incorporating the rules & regulations.
  • Plan and carry out safety audits periodically for substations, office buildings, stores, etc. and propose recommendations for improvements in the aspects of health and safety.
  • Assist in handling and reporting electrical accident cases to the management with measures to avoid future occurrences.
  • Handling communications with NERC and other IE departments and preparing annual reports.
  • Comply with Quality Management System / Occupational Health & Safety requirements including objectives and applicable regulations relating to assigned jobs.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the Head of Department.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in related engineering discipline or environmental health and safety management.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience with 3 years’ relevant experience in a related field.
  • Having a Master’s Degree or Professional certification/ Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Health, Safety and Environment.
  • Good understanding of technical and engineering aspects of the Distribution of power and electricity.

  • Candidates must have an excellent knowledge of HSE Monitoring and Administration
  • Should have a knowledge of Safety and Health Compliance

Job Title: Purchase / Tender Administration Supervisor

Location: Lagos
Job Type: Full time
Reporting To: Head, Supply Chain Management

Job Description

  • The ideal candidate is responsible for assisting in the procurement of high value materials, per the approval matrix.

Specific Roles

  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with all suppliers, prepare reports and provide support to all managers to plan and execute all purchasing processes and provide an effective interface with all departments.
  • Evaluate and analyze purchasing trend and price trend to identify forecasting demand and minimize purchasing costs.
  • Manage all supplier contracts and assist to administer best pricing strategies for all purchase materials and recommend strategies to improve quality.
  • Prepare consolidated items of purchase for the Annual Material Plan.
  • Assist in obtaining and studying comparative prices and quotations. Make purchasing decisions based on information obtained.
  • Prepare purchase orders and review for accuracy.
  • Assist in conducting pre bid (techno-commercial) meeting/ clarifying and finalizing specification, time frames etc.
  • Contributes to the development of processes and procedures.
  • Review monthly stock statements and take required action.
  • Liaising with other Departments to ensure the procurement of right materials.
  • Market Survey and Stock re-validation.
  • Documentation, analysis of procurement process to payment process and also follow up with payment.
  • Perform vendor rating and follow up with vendor for delivery schedules.
  • Prepare and maintain vendor database and bidder lists.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the Head of Department,

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ relevant work experience in related field.

  • Candidates should have an excellent knowledge of Electricity Industry Regulatory.
  • Must have a knowledge of Procurement Management
  • Candidates should have a Vendor Selection & Management skill.
  • Should have a knowledge of Safety and Health Compliance
  • Must have an excellent Communication and Interpersonal Relations skills.
  • Candidates must have a Supervisory/Managerial Skills
  • Candidates should be good in Problem Solving and Decision Making

Job Title: Store Officer

Location: Lagos
Job Type: Full time
Reporting To: Store Supervisor

Job Description

  • This role is responsible for assisting the Store Supervisor in management of material issue and receipt.

Key Roles

  • Physical check of any damaged material on receipt of material.
  • Maintenance and audit of material in stock.
  • Inspect items to check and declare item as defective or serviceable.
  • Assist in finalizing various MIS reports pertaining to store procedures.
  • Comply with Quality Management System / Occupational Health & Safety requirements including objectives and applicable regulations relating to assigned jobs.
  • Carry out all other functions as designated in line with achieving the departmental objectives.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences or any related course.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience in related field.
