He was born to a wonderful family of Joseph Robinette Biden Sr and Catherine Eugenia Biden, being the first out of the four children bestowed unto them. Biden has a sister and two brothers and when Biden was born, his wealthy father faced financial difficulties and had to move in with his family into his maternal grandparents “Edward Francis Blewitt” who was a Pennsylvania State Senate member. Later in 1953, Biden’s father moved his family to an apartment in Claymont, Delaware since he couldn’t find a sustainable job in Scranton.
Archmere Academy is the first school Joe attended in Claymont where he was a vast student academically and in some athletic areas. After graduating in 1961, he studied history and political science at the University of Delaware. Biden then obtained a half scholarship into the Syracuse University College of Law due to his parent’s financial difficulties. Joe thereafter graduated 76 out of 85 in his class with a Juris Doctor Degree in 1968.
